You lucky dog rescue is an all-volunteer IRC 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue of homeless and abandoned dogs from the high-kill shelters of North Georgia. We believe it is our moral responsibility to save, protect, and improve the lives of these dogs through the help of committed volunteers, foster homes, donors, local veterinarians, and trainers. We strive to re-introduce these dogs to society, assess their individual needs, and provide them with a loving temporary home while matching them with only the best, carefully screened forever homes. You Lucky Dog Rescue is committed not only to rescuing dogs from shelters but also making sure they receive the best quality veterinary care before being adopted into a forever home.

In addition, You Lucky Dog Rescue provides training for dogs that require help adjusting to life off of the streets or outside of a shelter. You Lucky Dog Rescue has never shied away from taking in special needs cases such as heartworm disease, injuries requiring orthopedic surgeries, or skin conditions including the treatment of mange. At You Lucky Dog Rescue, we are not just focused on the physical health of the dogs in our care; we also want to be sure that the dogs in our care are emotionally ready to be adopted into their forever homes. When one of our dogs is unable to transition into their foster home, we provide training so that these dogs and their fosters can develop a relationship that will benefit them both. Participating in extensive training programs allows them to feel safe, secure, and well cared for in their foster homes.

You Lucky Dog Rescue is also committed to educating the public on the importance of spaying and neutering in reducing the pet overpopulation problem and the risks of heartworm disease without preventative care. You Lucky Dog Rescue also hopes to promote the adoption of “bully breeds” that are misunderstood and misrepresented. We oppose breed-specific legislation and hope to educate the public on the love and loyalty shown by “pit bull” type dogs.

Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta (GRRA) is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to saving Golden Retrievers that are in need of new forever homes. Started in 1991, Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta is registered with the State of Georgia and is licensed by the State Agriculture Department as an animal shelter and rescue group. There are no paid officers or members within GRRA. Volunteers staff the myriad of functions associated with running the complex day-to-day operations of a dog rescue. The GRRA Rescue team works closely with Georgia animal control organizations to save Golden Retrievers that have found themselves in shelters. We also accept Golden Retrievers from owners and breeders who are no longer able to provide the attention and/or care the dogs deserve. The GRRA Foster team is a network of volunteers who generously provide the shelter, care, training, and love these dogs need in preparation for adoption. GRRA also ensures necessary medical care for each dog is provided before they are adopted.

Trap Neuter Return (TNR) Cat Program

In a Trap-Neuter-Return program, community cats are humanely trapped (with box traps), brought to a veterinarian to be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, eartipped (the universal sign that a community cat has been neutered and vaccinated), and then returned to their outdoor home.

Cats caught in a humane box trap are vetted with ALL labor donated by Dr. Kim and staff. The only costs are the materials to test for feline leukemia and feline aids, spay/neuter, deworm, treat for fleas, ear tip and rabies vaccinate. Please call for estimate. The cat MUST be in a trap and must undergo the ear tipping in this program.
